Ngozi ya binadamu  imegawanyika katika matabaka matatu

• Tabaka la nje (Epidermis )

• Tabaka la kati (Dermis )

• Tabaka la nyama (Hypodermis)

Tabaka la nje (epidermis):

Hili ni tabaka lililo nje ya ngozi ambalo wengi tunalifahamu. Kwa sababu  ni sehemu inayoonekana , tabaka la nje la ngozi ndilo huonyesha alama za kuzeeka , makovu na athari nyingine za mazingira/vijidudu kwenye ngozi.

Ingawa tabaka la nje(epidermis) ni tabaka moja, tabaka hili limetengenezwa na matabaka ya chembechembe hai ambazo hukua kila mara. Kukua huku husababisha zile chembechembe hai za juu zilizochoka/kufa kupukutika na nafasi yake kuchukuliwa na chembechembe hai mpya.

Tabaka la kati (dermis): 

 Kwenye tabaka hili ndiyo tunakuta hifadhi ya mwili ya collagen na elastin. Collagen na Elastin ndiyo vinahusika na uimara na muonekano nyororo wa ngozi. Kwenye tabaka hili pia kuna sebaceous gland ambayo kutoa lipid/mafutafuta  yanayoitwa sebum . Sebum husafirishwa kwenye tabaka la nje la ngozi kupitia mirija midogomidogo ambayo ipo kwenye kila shina la nywele. Sebum ni muhimu sana kwa afya ya ngozi hasahasa kwenye uimara wake, muonekano wa ujana wa ngozi, unyororo wake, kuzuia uharibifu na kuzuia kupata makunyanzi katika umri mdogo.

Tabaka la nyama (hypodermis):

 Hii ni sehemu yenye chembechembe zilizo bapa inayoambatana na mafuta na nyama (subcutaneous muscles). Tabaka hili linazuia upotevu wa maji mwilini vilevile linafanya kazi ya kuzuia mionzi ya Ultra Violet iliyopo kwenye mwanga wa jua.

Matabaka yote haya matatu hufanya kazi kwa ushirikiano kuitunza na kuilinda ngozi.

JINSI MWILI UNAVYOZEEKA
